What is “10 questions”? Who is behind?
My name is Pep Pla, and “10 questions” is a personal project intended to cover a gap in technology journalism in catalan. I think there are too few interviews in catalan to people related to technology, and often these interviews take place when interviewees are visiting catalan speaking territories. This is a global world and we do not need to wait for a visit, we may contact with anybody by electronic means and do the interview. It is better for the interviewee, both for practical and convenience reasons.
It is also true that vast majority of interviews are intended for non technical media, this way they loose depth, or are simplified by translation/adaptation.
If you are interested in a collaboration by translating, proposing or doing interviews by yourself, do not hesitate to send me an email at pep@peppla.com. It depends you to make this project no longer unipersonal. As a matter of fact, an espellchequer/korrektor would be welcome.
Why 10 questions?
10 is a tricky number. It is high enough to force you to prepare the interview in a deep way, I mean, you have to carefully choose the questions and remove trivial ones. On the other side it is low enough to make the interviewee think that it will be something quick and easy to answer.
Why a CC license? Why non derivative?
Obtaining economic benefit is not the purpose of these interviews. I think is fair to allow everybody free access to these pages and you may copy them if required.
Derivative works are restricted because we are talking of interviews, this is, other people words. I cannot allow anybody to make a derivative work changing contents or meanings. If your derivative is a translation, or any other kind of work, you may contact me to get the permission.
I want to highlight that the translation is the responsibility of the translator (usually me). Anyway it is good that you check translated version and the original one. If you find any mistake or inaccuracy, please drop me an email
How is chosen who is interviewed?
It's me who decides but suggestions are welcome.
